How to play

  1. Deal a round. You get two cards; one dealer card stays hidden.
  2. Choose Hit for another card or Stand to keep your total.
  3. Finish nearer 21 than the dealer without going over.

Card values

Number cards use their printed value. J, Q and K count as 10. An Ace counts as 11 when that fits, otherwise 1. A soft hand has an Ace still counted as 11.

The dealer and the result

The dealer draws below 17. Choose whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17 before dealing the next round. Hard 17 always stands. Two opening cards totaling 21 are blackjack, which beats a three-card 21. Two blackjacks tie. Other equal totals are a push. Going over 21 loses immediately.

Practice controls

Undo reopens the last decision, including its result. Hints use your total and the dealer’s visible card for a Hit/Stand study tip. The six-deck shoe continues between rounds and reshuffles when fewer than 80 cards remain.

This exercise has Hit and Stand only. It has no wagers, payments, prizes, split hands, doubling or surrender.
